Sunny In Belgium
Hello world. I hope you all had a great week. Another flashback post! I travelled to Belgium last May, for a few days. Even though it was a short and personal trip, I wanted to share some of it with you.
I knew very little about Belgium prior to my arrival. Belgium, is a small nation, with a big role to play in the European life and world history. If you are interested in the First World War, Belgium has a million sites to keep you busy, during your visit. But what people mostly come here for is the beer, chocolate, and fries. There are over 1,000 breweries in this little country. Belgium’s chocolate rivals the Swiss and the frites will make you look at french fries differently for the rest of your life. This country, usually just gets glossed over, as travelers visit Brussels before moving on, however, it has a lot of great medieval towns, historical sites and breweries worth sticking around for.
BEFORE TRAVELING TO BELGIUM
Visa: Belgium is part of the European Union, therefore, US citizens don’t need visas.
Apparently, a lot of people (according to the Belgians) think that Belgium is the capital of Brussels. To clarify this: Brussels (or Bruxlles) is the capital city of the country of Belgium. Brussels is also where the European Parliament is, and where Belgium’s most famous tourist attraction can be found.
We stayed at The Hotel Brussels This beautiful hotel is situated in the middle of many high end designer stores such as Bvlgari, Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton and so many more.I Highly recommend this for the fashion lovers.
I couldn’t get over, the many fashion books in our suite.
I was in love with the bathroom.
I am tempted to cut and color my hair again, after seeing this photo.
One of Belgium’s main attraction is The Atomium. Built for the Brussels World’s Fair in 1958, the Atomium was only suppose to last for 6 months, but such was its popularity, that it quickly became a major part of the Brussels landscape. Open everyday from 10am to 6pm.
Another main attraction in Belgium, is Grand-Place of Brussels. The Grand-Place, is the central square of the City of Brussels. Known for its decorative and aesthetic wealth. The Grand-Place, is surrounded by the guild houses, the City Hall and the Maison du Roi.
I hope my post, helps inspire you all to visit Belgium.
